The Team

The Launceston General Hospital is Tasmania's second largest hospital with a busy elective and emergency service utilising 9 main Operating Theatres. The LGH works closely with the University of Tasmania and is a major clinical teaching and research centre. All our services work closely together to deliver excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, workforce and the Tasmanian community guided by our CARE values.

The Role

The Theatre Hospital Aide assists in maintaining a safe surgical environment and adequate sterile and consumable stock for the Operating Room Suite. In addition, the role prepares surgical case set ups and assists with between case turnarounds. 

You will need

  • The successful applicant will maintain knowledge and practice of hygiene and infection control within a theatre environment.
  • The Theatre Hospital Aide is responsible for providing timely set up of surgical equipment and supplies.
  • The Theatre Hospital Aide is an integral part of the dynamic interdisciplinary team in the ORS, providing a safe and efficient service for patients during their perioperative journey.

Details of appointment

Multiple permanent full time or part time, shift worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join our team!

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$70,033 to $75,114 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025
