Benefits
Salary of $77,850 to $84,084 pa. Starting salary negotiable within range subject to experience in a similar role. Annual salary increases within this range in accordance with the Tasmanian State Service Award and Public Sector Union Wages Agreement

Working Environment
Tasmania Prison Service (TPS) has prison facilities located at Risdon Vale, Hobart and Launceston in Tasmania. This position is based at Risdon Vale. The Risdon Vale site offers a corporate working environment without the hustle and bustle of city centre offices, free on-site parking and access to the on-site staff gym (or head across the road to Risdon Brook Dam for a walk at lunch time).
Duties
- Develop and maintain systems to catalogue prisoner property in accordance with best practice in loss management.
- Manage and coordinate the provision of prisoner property services to all facilities on the Risdon Site.
- Supervise, induct and train State-wide Property prisoner workforce in procedures and undertakings, including section 33 obligations during the collection and distribution of prisoner property to external facilities.
- Engage and liaise with facility reception staff and Supervisors in relation to prisoner property processes, including prisoner and staff requests.
- Liaise with the Sentence Management Unit to align prisoner court attendance with property dispatching requirements.
- Manage and coordinate responses for prisoner complaint resolution processes as they relate to prisoner property.
- Develop and maintain inventory control system to ensure that prisoner property received, stored and despatched are properly recorded and accounted for.
- The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.

Desirable Requirements
- Understanding of prison operations or ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
- Previous experience operating in a prison environment.
