The Team

We offer an exciting and rewarding place to work, featuring contemporary, evidence-informed practise that sees our Speech Pathologists closely linked to the broader multidisciplinary team. We are a team of some 18 staff, a mix of passionate locals and new Tasmanian adventurers who will welcome your energy and experiences into the group dynamic.

This position is based with our Hospitals North Adult team and provide assessment and treatment to adult inpatient and outpatients.  And you’ll get to do this alongside highly accomplished Speechies with national and international experience to share, all while making a difference to the lives of a diverse and inclusive community.

We’ll look after you from the very beginning, ensuring you are fully welcomed into our ambitious and friendly culture. As an Allied Health group, we are dedicated to the development of our people and will work to help you to achieve your goals.

The Role

  • Provide professional assessment and treatment to adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties.
  • Work as part of our rotational roster with the opportunity to experience all areas of our adult service, from acute through to the community. 
  • Work with a highly experienced team of Speech Pathologists based at the Launceston General Hospital Speech Pathology department. 
  • Participate in structured professional supervision tailored to your level of experience, skill and leaning needs.
  • Have access to a generous AHP CPD fund.

Details of appointment

Permanent part time, day worker position, working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$81,614 to $117,074 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2025.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by Speech Pathology Australia
  • Eligible for membership with the Speech Pathology Australia

Or where regulatory requirements exist NDIS Q&S Commission Provider Registration Requirements

  • Full member of Speech Pathology Australia
