Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available. 

Duties

  • Lead and manage the delivery of policy and projects relating to Justices of the Peace, including the development of new resources and training to assist Justices of the Peace to effectively undertake their duties.
  • Promote, foster, and develop collaborative partnerships and effective relationships with Justices of the Peace, Justice of the Peace Associations and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the agency as required and deliver timely, relevant and authoritative advice on matters relating to Justices of the Peace.
  • Undertake research and prepare advice on complex matters associated with the functions of Justices of the Peace and the Office of the Secretary, including preparing relevant advice, Minutes, Cabinet Submissions, Executive Council and other documentation.
  • Assess expressions of interest and process applications for appointment in accordance with the provisions of the Justices of the Peace Act 2018.
  • Manage and progress initiatives to improve the Justice of the Peace database.

Desirable Requirements

  • A degree in Law from a recognised tertiary institution.
