About the role
As Field Officer, you will work across the diverse Bruny Island reserve network, which includes the South Bruny National Park and more than 20 other terrestrial and marine reserves. You will work in a small team of four and within the broader Huonville - Southwest Field Centre.
In this varied and hands-on role, you will contribute to the delivery of works programs and projects, undertake fire management activities, conduct risk assessments, supervise volunteers, and provide information and assistance to visitors.
Bruny Island is a spectacular and popular destination; you will enjoy working outdoors surrounded by towering sea cliffs, long sandy beaches, sweeping vistas, plentiful birdlife, and important heritage sites.
Hours per fortnight
76.0 hours per fortnight (minimum 60.8 hours, by negotiation).
Desirable requirements
- A workplace level 2 First Aid Certificate.
- A full Coxswain or Coxswain Restricted Diesel Endorsement.
- Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management or an equivalent qualification relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by either a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
- A Trade Certificate in a discipline relevant to the duties.
