The Team:

The Royal Hobart Hospital is the tertiary referral hospital in Tasmania. The hospital provides all general and specialty medical and surgical services as well as paediatrics, obstetrics and psychiatry. It is also the state’s tertiary trauma centre.

The ED provides a tertiary level service for people with illness or injury 24 hours a day 7 days per week. Our busy ED provides care for >75,000 patients annually with an admission rate of more than 35% and a paediatric case load of 20%.

The RHH Emergency Department has a co-located Emergency Medical Unit (EMU) which is a short stay ward for patients requiring a brief hospital stay (generally less than 24 hours).  The EMU has 24 short-stay beds operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a high turnover ward environment and a variety of clinical presentations.

The Role:

The Enrolled Nurse provides direct patient/client centred nursing care to assigned patients/clients, within the scope of practice of an enrolled nurse and under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse/midwife to achieve planned patient outcomes.

You will need:

  • Sound knowledge of the principles of nursing care, procedures, and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to practice in a manner that respects the right of individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.

Details of appointment

Multiple permanent, full time or part time, shift worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Multiple fixed term full time or part time, shift worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of up to twelve (12) months. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$73,109 to $80,524 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
