The Role

  • Provide comprehensive, evidence based clinical assessment, treatment, and assertive case management services, including the development and implementation of specialist treatment programs, group programs, community education and the provision of specialist interventions as required.
  • Assist the Team Leader and CAMHS Specialty group as required to implement the model of discipline specific professional supervision employed within CAMHS, including the coordination of peer supervision programs, students and less experienced staff as required.
  • Provide expert advice in regional and state forums as required.

You will need

  • A minimum of five years post graduate experience, with extensive experience, knowledge and understanding of mental health issues in relation to infants, children and adolescents and their families/carers.
  • Advanced knowledge, experience and skills in specialised CAMHS and discipline-specific assessment, and the formulation and provision of treatment to infants, children, adolescents and their families consistent with best-practice models.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of effective liaison and consultation with other services and agencies in the context of providing specialised mental health assessment, advice and training.

Details of appointment

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$131,122 to $138,984 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2025.

Salary Packaging

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Allowances

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $138,984 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification
  • Significant clinical paediatric experience with children and adolescents presenting with social, emotional, learning, and behavioural problems
