The Role

  • Provide specialist nursing expertise within an interdisciplinary framework to assist individuals and their families/carers to adjust to living with diabetes and/ or other endocrinology conditions, including the provision of education and health promotion activities.
  • Act as a clinical resource for internal and external stakeholders, including community organisations and health professionals, to provide specialist advice, knowledge and support. 

You will need:

  • To hold Credentialled Diabetes Educator status
  • Demonstrated experience in working with patients with diabetes including GDM; paediatric and insulin pump management
  • To be willing to work across multiple sites

Details of appointment

Permanent, part-time, day worker position, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$109,767 to $115,813 per annum pro rata. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria 

  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Credentialed with the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (CDE TM)
  • Member of the ADEA or other relevant professional organisation(s)
  • Holds a relevant postgraduate qualification
