The Team
The North West Neurological Support Service provides advanced clinical leadership and clinical care for individuals living in the community with Parkinson’s disease and related neurological conditions. This position works with a high level of autonomy within a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence based, person centred care within the community, primary health and residential aged care setting in the north west of Tasmania.
The Role
We are looking for motivated individuals passionate about supporting clients with Parkinsons and related neurological conditions. As well as providing support to those living with Parkinson’s Disease, this position leads and provides education to professionals, community members and organisations as well as coordinating multidisciplinary care to ensure continuity, integration and best outcomes for clients.
You will need:
- The ability to work autonomously, operating at a high level of professional independence and function consistently at a high level
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective professional relationships with clients, carers, community health providers and members of the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Provide specialist education and support to clients, carers, community and the professionals

Details of appointment
- Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working up to 32 hours per fortnight, 27 September 2026 until 25 September 2027. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$118,297 to $125,543 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.

Current Driver’s Licence.

- Holds a relevant nursing tertiary qualification or is working towards a relevant post graduate tertiary qualification
