The Team

Northern Tasmanian Pathology Service (NTPS) provides Pathology services to Launceston General Hospital and the Northern regions of Tasmania. We are the only public pathology service operating in North Tasmania. NTPS aims to deliver a high-quality service to general practitioners, medical specialists and private hospitals, providing patients with no out of pocket expenses for Medicare eligible tests. The team at NTPS comprises a large team involving multi-disciplinary scientists, technicians, non-technical staff and Pathologists.

The Role

This role will support the incumbent CNC in fulfilling the scope of practice and requirements to maintain Blood Management practices in the Tasmanian Health Service - North (THS-N)

You will need

  • Promote and support the development strategies to optimise use of blood products/alternatives by following and adopting Standard 7 Blood management guidelines.
  • Investigate and identify increase in out-of-hours transfusion, the reasons and develop appropriate strategies to mitigate.
  • Undertake hemovigilance initiatives to improve education and awareness across all clinical areas, including sites across Hospitals North.
  • You will be required to provide leave coverage for the incumbent, and the incumbent will reciprocate during periods of the applicant’s leave.

Details of appointment

Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 28 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$118,297 to $125,543 pro rata per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
