The Team

Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and Sub-Acute, Aged and Community Services is one of the clinical streams which works across RHH and the Repatriation Centre, District Hospitals, Community Health Centres and community services within the Tasmanian Health Service. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role

As the Assistant Director of Nursing – Sub-Acute & Aged Services, you will provide strategic, operational and professional nursing leadership across a diverse portfolio of services. Working as a key member of the senior nursing leadership team, you will lead service delivery, workforce development and quality improvement initiatives to ensure safe, effective and patient-centred care. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders across hospital and community settings, support innovation and service integration, and contribute to achieving strong clinical, operational and organisational outcomes

You will need

  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to motivate, support and develop high-performing nursing teams
  • Experience managing complex health services, including workforce, financial and operational resources
  • Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships across a broad range of settings
  • A commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and evidence-based practice
  • The ability to drive change, support innovation and contribute to the achievement of strategic service objectives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions in a dynamic healthcare environment

Details of appointment

Permanent, full time, day worker (with on-call), working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$154,301 per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
