Coordinate all aspects of the conferencing processes for young people in custody and assist in the delivery of comprehensive, consistent, and coordinated services that support the reintegration of detained youth into the community.

About the role
We are seeking a Clinical Lead - Case Conferencing Facilitator to join our team at Ashley Youth Detention Centre (AYDC) permanently. This role is central to coordinating and facilitating conferencing processes for young people in custody. You’ll support reintegration efforts, contribute to case management, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver consistent and effective support to the Young People at AYDC.
We’re looking for someone who brings
- Proven ability to facilitate conferencing processes, case management and/or therapeutic interventions, particularly in contexts involving behavioural challenges or conflict resolution,
- Post-graduate experience in a relevant allied health discipline (e.g. social work, psychology, counselling, occupational therapy, or similar),
- Sound understanding or ability to quickly acquire knowledge of youth justice legislation, national standards, and trauma-informed practice.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, including skills in de-escalation, active listening, and collaborative decision-making.

Condition of employment
- Salary $123,717 to $134,336 per annum + 6.5% Corrections allowance + Super
- Award/ Agreement: Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement
- Classification: Allied Health Professional, Level 4
- Location: Ashley Youth Detention Centre in Deloraine, TAS.
Essential requirements
- Ability to obtain or already have a current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Employment Status) – Tasmania.
- A tertiary qualification approved by the relevant National Board and eligibility for membership with the relevant National Board or professional association.
- Satisfy a pre-employment check
