Job description:

Provide leadership and strategic direction related to operational activities throughout Learning Services, including alignment of processes and functions within established frameworks which support schools, colleges and Child and Family Learning Centres (CFLC) to appropriately and proactively manage allocated financial, physical and staffing resources.  Provide high level advice and support to the Director Learning Services and Deputy Secretary within the Schools and Early Years, to assist with proactive community and stakeholder engagement, particularly related to significant project initiatives.

This is a Department built entirely for children and young people and their communities.  Our ultimate goal is to work together to ensure that every child and young person in Tasmania is known, safe, well and learning.

Duties

Provide leadership and strategic direction related to operational activities throughout Learning Services, including alignment of processes and functions within established frameworks which support schools, colleges and Child and Family Learning Centres (CFLC) to appropriately and proactively manage allocated financial, physical and staffing resources.  Provide high level advice and support to the Director Learning Services and Deputy Secretary within the Schools and Early Years, to assist with proactive community and stakeholder engagement, particularly related to significant project initiatives.

Period of Appointment

ASAP for 12 months

Hours per fortnight

73.5 hours per fortnight

Essential Requirements

  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment).

Desirable Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications. A senior executive with a proven record of management in a large private or public sector organisation.
