Job description:

A diverse role leading a small team of professionals that conducts important environmental regulation activities across a large portfolio of industries.

About the role

The Section Manager (Southern Regulation) will manage the human, physical, financial, and information resources of the Southern Industrial Regulation Section, a team of five. 

  • Work with various industries including renewables (windfarms), food processing facilities, manufacturing and mining/ extractive.
  • Implement and manage the statutory system for the regulation of environmentally significant matters and activities.
  • Provide strategic policy and authoritative professional advice on best practice environmental management and regulatory issues.
  • Contribute to business planning, development of procedures, effective management, and future directions of the Branch.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation). 

Essential requirements

  • A degree in Science or Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.

Desirable requirements

  • A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
  • Several years relevant post qualification experience.
