Job description:

Represent Tasmania’s Parks and Wildlife Service on the rugged North West Coast and provide information and advice on the use of the Parks and Reserves

About the role

As Visitor Services Officer, you’ll play a critical role in providing safe and enjoyable experiences for visitors in the remote and wild far northwest.

  • Provide safety messages and education about permitted and prohibited activities in Reserves.
  • Collect fees for camping and four-wheel driving.
  • Provide information and advice to visitors on recreational opportunities and features.
  • Undertake office administration tasks, including stock maintenance and annual stocktake.

This position is based at the Arthur River Field Centre on Tasmania’s Northwest Coast. A dramatic coastline and landscape that is dominated by parabolic dunes, rocky headlands, reefs, wild rivers, and expansive beaches. The coast is rich in Aboriginal heritage, pioneering history, and unique and endemic species. The significant natural and cultural values of the area are protected under both state and federal legislation.

This position will be rostered fortnightly, 8 days on and 6 days off.

  • A current Workplace Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
  • A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
