Job description:
Join the Parks and Wildlife Service and help manage a large and wild part of Tasmania, with rich Aboriginal heritage and home to the renowned Tarkine

About the role
Based on Tasmania’s rugged Northwest coast at the Arthur River Field Centre, you’ll assist the Ranger in Charge with the management of the field centre operations and resources.
- Conduct assessments, develop plans, and coordinate staff to deliver works programs.
- Develop and implement exciting projects, including the West Coast Offroad Vehicle Project and the Edge of the World redevelopment.
- Engage with stakeholders to resolve complex land management issues and create a greater understanding of the role and services the Parks and Wildlife Service provides.
- Undertake fire management activities.
The Arthur-Pieman Conservation Area has a dramatic coastline and landscape that is dominated by parabolic dunes, rocky headlands, reefs, wild rivers, and expansive beaches. The coast is rich in Aboriginal heritage, pioneering history, and unique and endemic species. The significant natural and cultural values of the area are protected under both state and federal legislation.

76.0 hours per fortnight (minimum 60.8 hours, by negotiation).

- A Diploma in Conservation and Land Management, or other qualifications deemed equivalent.
- A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
