Job description:

Provide high level support and advice including the development of resources, promotional materials, speeches, publications, media releases, newsletter articles, multimedia productions and social media messaging to ensure the Office of the Implementation Monitor (OIM) has effective communication channels with targeted audiences. Support the ongoing communications activities of the office including the development, branding and publishing of the annual report, Implementation Framework and associated material.

Period of Appointment

ASAP for 12 months

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available. 

Duties

  • Consistent with the Implementation Monitor’s strategic priorities, develop, implement and evaluate communication strategies for the OIM’s programs and activities. Ensure these meet the needs of the audiences and comply with relevant Departmental and Government policies, standards and guidelines.
  • Prepare engaging, high quality, consistent and accurate speeches, media releases, newsletter articles, multimedia productions and social media messaging for the Implementation Monitor.
  • Prepare publications such as reports, resources and promotional materials, including the gathering, quality assurance and, if required, writing of content, brand management, printing and distribution, the procurement and management of external consultants and ensuring jobs are managed appropriately and outputs are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manage the web presence and digital communication activities, ensuring the content is current and appropriate for the target audience(s).
  • Undertake research, analysis and problem solving of complex issues, and provide authoritative advice, recommendations and solutions.
  • Establish collaborative partnerships and effective relationships across government and with key stakeholders, including local and national media representatives.
  • Provide day-to-day practical guidance, professional leadership and support to members of the team, promoting a positive and engaging workplace.
  • As required from time to time, perform other tasks relevant to the skills and experience of the position classification.

Essential Requirements

A current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status-Employment).

Desirable Requirements

A tertiary qualification or professional background in journalism, communications, graphic design or marketing.
