Job description:
The Chief Financial Officer is a key senior management role responsible for the strategic oversight and management of Properties and Procurement and Financial Management Services.
The role is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the development and implementation of financial management systems, policies and strategies that enable the Department of Premier and Cabinet to deliver its core business including services to the Tasmanian community.
The incumbent is responsible for providing strategic advice to groups and units on the effective use of financial management systems and establishing the necessary strategic and planned approach to meeting medium and longer term demands. This includes coordinating and driving projects across the agency that are designed to improve financial performance and developing a high performance, collaborative team.
The CFO is responsible to the key governance bodies in the Agency for the endorsement of the agency’s budget strategies and acquittance of financial accountability.
