Job description:

The position will oversee the implementation of the State Road and Bridge Emergency Management Plan, manage the development and delivery of specific road maintenance projects including the incorporation of new road assets after construction, and provide advice in relation to asset management and related maintenance across the Tasmanian State Road network.

Duties

•  Lead the implementation of the State Road and Bridge Emergency Management Plan, including provision of emergency management exercises.
•  Lead the development of the operational components of specific infrastructure emergency response plans and implement operational emergency risk register improvement initiatives.
•  Coordinate State Roads emergency preparedness response and recovery in accordance with the State Road and Bridge Emergency Management Plan and relevant state level plans and legislation.
•  Represent State Roads Division and the Department as required on State bodies relevant to emergency management, including Regional Emergency Management Committees, and other intergovernmental forums.
•  Undertake specific maintenance management project tasks related to road asset defects including drainage, embankments and retaining structures.
•  Manage tasks associated with the handover of new assets from construction projects to asset management information system and State Roads Division.
•  Manage budgets and consultants and work with the broader Asset Management and Programming and Delivery branches to effectively manage activities to achieve required outcomes.

Essential Requirements

Evidence of the following must be provided prior to appointment to this role:
•  A current driver's licence.
The person must continue to satisfy the above essential requirements/qualifications throughout their employment in this role.

Desirable Requirements

•  Completion of Australasian Inter-Service Incident Management System (AIIMS) training.
