Job description:
The Manager Forensic Biology is a key member of the Forensic Science Service Tasmania (FSST) management group. The Manager provides leadership and direction to Forensic Biology staff, provides expert advice and recommendations to, and supports the Director, FSST to provide independent scientific/regulatory services of a highly complex and varied nature in relation to Forensic Biology.
The Manager works closely with the Director, FSST to develop and execute strategies, policies, systems, and processes for the state-wide delivery of Forensic Biology, including the allocation and coordination of human, physical and financial resources.
This Manager also works with the Director, FSST to build productive working relationships, strategic partnerships and communication networks within and external to the Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management (DPFEM).
Due to the sensitive and challenging nature of the work within FSST, the Manager, Forensic Biology is expected to demonstrate a level of resilience and adaptability within their role, the ability to self-advocate for their wellbeing, and that of the Forensic Biology staff.
