Job description:

The Assistant Director, as a senior member of the Branch, will contribute to the achievement of Branch and Treasury objectives, including by: • identifying strategic issues and making recommendations regarding potential improvements in relation to a range of areas of Branch focus, including whole of Government contracts, fleet vehicle arrangements or prequalification and Technology Services List assessments; • providing advice to Ministers, agencies and other stakeholders about whole of Government contracts, fleet vehicles, assessment matters and other areas of Branch responsibility; and • leading Branch projects to improve Government purchasing outcomes and procurement framework requirements.

About the Branch

As part of the Budget and Finance Division, the Procurement, Risk and Contract Management Branch provides advice and management oversight of the Government’s procurement policy framework, establishes the Government’s common use contracts and manages the cost of risk for Government agencies through the Tasmanian Risk Management Fund. The Branch also has responsibility for the Government light motor vehicle fleet, manages the eTenders website and undertakes assessments of applications in relation to a range of Schemes related to purchasing requirements.

Hours per fortnight

73.5 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation) - talk to us about how this could work for you. We are open to considering a range of flexible work options.

Highly Desirable Requirements

Completion of relevant tertiary or industry qualifications, and/or professional affiliation.
