Job description:

Provide support and system administration and quality data management in relation to the Department’s Human Resource Information System (HRIS). Co-ordinate the planning, development and the administration of system reporting and procedures, including problem resolution, database management, system security, review of the system, and training of users. Lead and undertake related project activities.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.


  • Co-ordinate the day-to-day operational activities of the Department’s computerised Human Resource Information System (HRIS), currently Empower-HR and any replacement systems ensuring that system processes facilitate effective and efficient human resource management practices.
  • Develop and maintain reports and take a lead on data cleansing and automation projects.
  • Maintain effective data, system, and information integrity through the development of and documentation of appropriate business rules and standards, encompassing security aspects, and training programs for Human Resources (HR) team and output staff.
  • Responsible for ensuring human resource transactions that occur outside the Human Resource section via system interfaces are accurately processed and ensure continuous business improvements.
  • Provide authoritative advice and support including critical technical support to resolve user and operational problems including support for legacy systems.
  • Undertake the creation and distribution of HR information reports, including high level statistical information for both external and internal users.
  • Develop processes that enhance the performance of the HRIS and provide the opportunity to absorb other secondary systems.
  • Represent the Department as the Systems Administrator, for Empower-HR or any replacement systems, including liaison with the whole of government consortium and other relevant groups.
