Job description:

Develop, monitor, and manage the State Budget, undertake major projects on state budgetary issues, and manage the Budget Information Management System

  • Help develop, monitor and manage of the State Budget at a whole-of-government level, including managing the Budget Information Management System.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor agency and government Budget performance.
  • Prepare whole-of-government financial and budget reports.
  • Manage the Budget Information Management System.
  • Handle financial information and perform reconciliations.
  • Provide training and support to system users.
  • Undertake major projects on budgetary issues.

About the Branch

As part of the Budget and Finance Division, the Budget Management Branch seeks to improve outcomes for the Tasmanian community through the provision of effective advice on the financial and resource management of government agencies, taking into account the Government’s strategies and priorities, and prepare, monitor and manage the State Budget on behalf of the Tasmanian Government.

Highly Desirable Requirements

Completion or partial completion of relevant tertiary or industry qualifications, and/or professional affiliation.
