Job description:

The purpose of the role is to lead the activities of the Scalefish section to develop and implement marine resource management plans and provide fisheries policy and strategy advice to the Manager (Wild Fisheries Management) and General Manager (Marine Resources) for the sustainable management of marine resources adjacent to Tasmania.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation)

Duties

The purpose of the role is to lead the activities of the Scalefish section to develop and implement marine resource management plans and provide fisheries policy and strategy advice to the Manager (Wild Fisheries Management) and General Manager (Marine Resources) for the sustainable management of marine resources adjacent to Tasmania.

Essential Requirements

  • A degree relevant to the professional duties to be undertaken, as provided by a university.

Desirable Requirements

  • Six to eight years’ experience involving fisheries management, or assessment or equivalent experience.
  • A current motor vehicle drivers’ licence.
