Provide assistance to the teacher(s) by assisting with the supervision and learning of students. Provide support and assistance to students with high and/or additional needs including but not limited to students with physical and/or intellectual disabilities and students with behavioural issues.

*Employment Conditions - 40 weeks per year

Essential Requirements

The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations 2014. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment. • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment).

Following an announcement by the Tasmanian Government, a Public Health Direction has been issued requiring that all persons providing high intensity support to an NDIS participant are vaccinated against COVID-19. Teacher Assistants need to meet this mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirement. This is critical in protecting both our education workforce and vulnerable Tasmanians in our care.
