Job description:

Build trusted partnerships with leaders and stakeholders to deliver high‑quality, end‑to‑end recruitment services across the Department of Health.

About the Department

The Department of Health is the largest agency in the Tasmanian State Government and is the largest employer in the state of Tasmania.  We provide essential services including inpatient, outpatient, community health, child community health and residential aged care.  We provide healthcare across acute care, sub-acute care, emergency care, non- admitted care, allied health, primary healthcare, palliative care, dementia services, specialised case management services, oral health, cancer screening, mental health, alcohol and drug services and corporate functions.  Our hospitals include Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General, Northwest Regional Hospital and Mercey Community Hospital.  Ambulance Tasmania is also part of the Department of Health.     

About the team

Recruitment Services is implementing a new statewide operating model and structure designed to strengthen recruitment capability, improve consistency, and support a more modern end‑to‑end service across the Department of Health. We’re building a stronger, more specialised team to support consistent end‑to‑end recruitment across the Department, and we’re recruiting to multiple roles as part of this implementation.

About the Role

  • Strategic recruitment leadership skills, including the ability to initiate and deliver end-to-end recruitment services within a contemporary recruitment model, utilising integrated, innovative sourcing strategies and effective workforce and recruitment planning across the complete recruitment lifecycle.
  • Proven capacity to coach, consult, enable and support the Business Partners, Hiring Managers, Senior Leaders and recruitment teams on best practice recruitment, ensuring consistency, compliance, and high-quality selection and appointment outcomes.
  • Highly developed relationship building and influencing skills, with the ability to establish and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders to translate recruitment strategies into effective talent acquisition outcomes.
  • Strong capability to foster a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and contribute to the development and implementation of contemporary recruitment policies, practices, procedures, and service improvement initiatives.

What’s on offer

$107,899 - $122,292 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with the Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award (HAHSA) and the Public Sector Union Wages Agreement (PSUWA)

Details of appointment

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight.
 *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Eligibility

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or other related field.
  • Significant demonstrated experience as a recruitment partner in a large, diverse or complex environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing solutions focused customer service.
  • Current drivers licence.
