Job description:

Ambulance Tasmania is seeking a Manager Clinical Practice – Integrated Care to ensure the highest standard of patient care is delivered.

The Team:

The Manager Clinical Practice - Integrated Care works as part of the wider Clinical Systems team for Ambulance Tasmania. This team provides functions including clinical and professional practice, clinical governance, innovation and research, safety and quality, medical care planning and pharmacy services for the organisation. In conjunction, this role works closely with Ambulance Tasmania's Education and Clinical Support team, and operational business units.

The Role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Clinical & Professional Practice, the Manager Clinical Practice - Integrated Care will ensure that the highest standard of patient care is delivered via effective clinical leadership, practice, education and research.

As part of the Clinical Services team, the Manager Clinical Practice - Integrated Care will lead the development and implementation of new programs/guidelines/policies in clinical and professional practice, relating to Integrated Care practice areas within the service, including but not limited to Community and Extended Care Paramedicine, Secondary Triage and Mental Health Co-Response. 

This role will provide expert clinical input into educational programs and collaborate with the Education team to develop educational and training initiatives.

The Manager Clinical Practice - Integrated Care will undertake quality assurance and improvement activities, including development of clinical practice guidelines, clinical audits, quality and safety initiatives and innovation for the organisation, and will maintain their professional and clinical competence through regular clinical shifts. The Manager Clinical Practice - Integrated Care will provide in-person clinical leadership to relevant Integrated Care staff roles across the organisation to support their practice.

Duties

  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise within specialist clinical areas of the service associated with the development of referral pathways and clinical models of care.
  • Lead a specialised subset of ambulance and paramedic practice as directed by the Senior Manager, Clinical & Professional Practice and develop and manage budgets related to assigned projects related to clinical services.
  • In partnership with other healthcare professionals, lead the development and implementation of best practice, appropriate evidence-based pathways, protocols, policies, and clinical practice guidelines.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $150,796 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Ambulance Tasmania Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Holds a Bachelor of Paramedic Science or other qualification approved by the Service, relevant work experience and an additional qualification in management or equivalent.
  • Registered with the Paramedicine Board of Australia
  • Current Driver’s Licence

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Post graduate qualification in paramedicine
  • Experience in the development of clinical and professional practice and integrated care (including virtual care)
