Job description:

The Royal Hobart Hospital is seeking a Coordinator - Environmental Services, ensuring efficient and effective support to clinical units

The Team:

As part of the Environmental Services team, you will be helping to provide essential cleaning and support services across the entire hospital. From infection control in high-risk areas like Theatres, to general ward cleaning, pharmacy sanitation, and much more — our work is integral to the safe and smooth operation of the hospital. As a vital part of the hospital’s daily function, we work collaboratively, respond flexibly to changing needs, and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and care.

The Environmental Services Coordinator is responsible for the daily operation of Environmental Services at the Royal Hobart Hospital, ensuring efficient and effective support to clinical units. The role involves managing resources, maintaining collaborative relationships with hospital teams, coordinating training and performance programs, and contributing to service improvement and policy development in consultation with the Manager – Environmental Services.

You will need to:

  • Provide leadership and direction in the day-to-day coordination of Environmental Services across all areas of the RHH and satellite sites.
  • Allocate and monitor the use of resources and, in consultation with the Manager, develop and maintain strategies to meet cost centre budget objectives.
  • Provide activity reports to the Manager and, in consultation with the Manager, participate in the review and evaluation of services and contribute to the development of operational policies and procedures.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
