Job description:

The Programming and Delivery team is seeking a motivated Senior Manager to lead statewide planning, system design, and the delivery of health infrastructure

The Team:

Programming and Delivery's primary role is to deliver new and enhance existing health infrastructure across the State. The team delivers a range of capital works projects that support the Department’s Long-Term Plan at the State’s four major hospitals, district hospitals, mental health facilities and ambulance stations.

The Role:

The Department of Health’s (DoH) Infrastructure Group is responsible for the statewide planning, system-design, and delivery of health infrastructure. The Programming and Delivery Branch is responsible for the planning, design, and delivery of the DoH’s Capital Investment Program (CIP) through:

  • Programming, planning, documenting, managing, and delivering CIP projects.
  • Developing and implementing effective processes to support the delivery of the CIP projects.
  • Procuring consultants and contractors, managing construction and commissioning, and continuously improving CIP systems and processes.

You will need to:

  • Manage a diverse team of contractors and staff including Architects, Engineers, Superintendents and other consultants to ensure capital works projects are delivered within specified timeframes, budgets and within Government Legislative guidelines.
  • Lead all phases of capital works projects in accordance with industry standards and Tasmanian Government and DoH policies, procedures, and guidelines with specific emphasis on value, risk management and process.
  • Develop and maintain relationships between consultants, internal and external key stakeholders and project sponsors to ensure capital works projects meet internal client needs and contribute to the continued development of a strategic approach to asset planning across the Department’s portfolio.

Details of appointment:

Multiple Permanent full time, day worker positions, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $139,470 to $148,863 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
