Job description:

This pivotal role within the Quality and Patient Safety Service (QPSS) South provides high-level executive, secretarial and administrative support to the QPSS team and senior management.

Come and join our team! The Quality and Patient Safety Service (QPSS) plays a central role in ensuring that health services across Tasmania are safe, effective, and continuously improving.  Based in the Hobart CBD, our department is to provide safety and quality programs and support quality improvement activities to ensure Hospitals South provides the best possible care for our patients and their support networks.  As part of our team, you will be working alongside an amazing and diverse group of professionals who are passionate about the Tasmanian Health Service CARE values - Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence. 

The Role:

This pivotal role within the Quality and Patient Safety Service (QPSS) South provides high-level executive, secretarial and administrative support to the QPSS team and senior management.

The successful candidate will

  • contribute to the efficient and effective workflow and sharing of information across Hospitals by providing a single focal point for incoming and outgoing high-level communications and documentation for Quality and Patient Safety Service.
  • Provide high level executive support directly to the relevant Director/s and committees; including the preparation, coordination and quality assurance of meeting papers, minute taking, action delivery and follow up, preparation of correspondence, organisation, and scheduling of face to face and online/teleconference meetings. 
  • Undertake project work of an investigative nature working in partnership with key stakeholders and support the coordination of the planning processes across Hospitals. 

You will need 

  • Proven experience in providing high level, contemporary executive management support including a demonstrated ability to undertake secretariat support to committees or similar.
  • Well-developed written, and verbal communication, consultation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills and have the capacity to plan, organise, set priorities, and work effectively both individually and as a member of a team in an environment subject to work pressures and change. 
  • Ability to exercise initiative, judgement, sensitivity, and discretion, including the ability to interpret and analyse information and recommend or decide on appropriate action within a senior management environment.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: 

$81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
