Job description:

Exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Department of Health!

The Team:

The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is the largest public hospital in the state and operates at a level 6 capability providing acute inpatient and outpatient surgical services, and elective and emergency surgical services for the Hospitals South. The RHH is the major provider of elective surgery, and is the tertiary referral for complex patients from Hospitals North and Hospitals North West undertaking a range of both in-patient and out-patient services, and also the tertiary referral centre for all surgical procedures including Burns, Cardiac Surgery, Neurosurgery and Vascular and Endovascular Surgery provided on a State-wide bases.

The Role

As the Clinical Nurse Specialist – Data Coordinator, you will work in partnership with relevant clinical leader and/or manager to maintain and coordinate the clinical quality registry database for surgery. Ensuring the efficient and effective provision of data from various information systems is captured.

You’ll bring your skills and experience in data management and/or clinical research, fostering a positive working environment and continuously improve services to support the health and wellbeing of all in Tasmania.

It’s a busy and rewarding role where you will have direct impact on a patient’s journey within the Perioperative service.  Its meaningful work in a meaningful place, where you’ll make a real difference to where you live and work. 

About you

  • It’s a busy and rewarding role where you will use advanced nursing skills and contemporary operating theatre efficiency knowledge to interpret appropriately obtained performance data from various hospital information systems and the creation, management and distribution of data and high-level detailed reports on a regular basis.

The person needs to have the surgical and Perioperative operational understanding, and you'll have patient care at the forefront of all that you do and work with other likeminded people to ensure administrative and business support that ensures quality patient care.

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, day worker position, working 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Holds, or is working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications

  • Experience in either surgical, burns, oncology, critical care or emergency nursing

  • Experience in data management or within a clinical research environment
