We are seeking senior allied health professionals with experience in clinical leadership, complex case management, assessment, counselling and/or therapy, and within mental health or relevant/related sector would be ideal. You would be working within a well-supported, diverse multidisciplinary team to provide developmentally appropriate treatment with children, young people, and their families.
Our Aim:
The Child and Youth Mental Health Service in Tasmania is growing! We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Clinical Lead to provide clinical services to children, young people and their families/significant others experiencing mental health concerns. The position available is within our new teams which are currently being developed as initiatives under the CAMHS reform program (Youth, Youth Forensic, Out of Home Care).
The Clinical Lead will have a passion for providing a person-centred approach and working within a multidisciplinary team environment, providing high level clinical leadership to the team.
- Leadership training is available and provided by the Tasmanian Health Service in partnership with University of Tasmania.
The role will include:
- Being part of a dynamic and well supported team committed to delivering high quality mental health services to children, young people, and their families/carers.
- Undertaking clinical services through the provision of complex case management, assessment, and individual therapies, including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs
- Working alongside innovative team leaders and consultant psychiatrists to develop new child and youth mental health services in Tasmania.
- Leading and working with an amazing and diverse group of clinicians as part of the collaborative multidisciplinary team, including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required

Details of Appointment
One permanent full time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $120,114 - $130,181 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
- Relocation assistance and visa support may be available for the right applicant.
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $126,845 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

Satisfactory completion of an appropriate allied health professional course of study at a recognised tertiary institution and registered with the relevant Board or, in the case of unregulated professions, eligible for membership of the relevant professional association.

Current Working with Children Registration
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- A minimum of 3 years current post graduate experience in child, adolescent and/or youth mental health or relevant field.
- Training in relevant and appropriate evidence-based therapeutic interventions that are developmentally appropriate such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Family Therapy or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Current Driver’s Licence
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty.
