Job description:

• Assist in the daily functioning of Allied Health Professional services within Primary Health North. • Undertake tasks under the direction of a Community Allied Health Professional (AHP) related to the provision of allied health services to clients in the community and district hospitals.

The role:

  • Assist in the daily functioning of Allied Health Professional services within Primary Health North.
  • Undertake tasks under the direction of a Community Allied Health Professional (AHP) related to the provision of allied health services to clients in the community and district hospitals.

The hospital:

  • The North Eastern Soldiers Memorial Hospital is located in Scottsdale which is in the north east part of Tasmania
  • The NESMH is a rural 18 bed sub acute inpatient hospital. 
  • The Allied Health Care Assistant works within a team which includes Registered and Enrolled Nurses, Physiotherapists and the Social Worker.
  • This position works with both inpatients and outpatients.
  • This position is required to provide assistance with mobility activities for the inpatient

Details of Appointment

Fixed term, part time, day worker position working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing from 27 February 2024 until 30 June 2025

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $65,236 to $68,925 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Certificate IV in Health Service Assistance (Allied Health Assistance) or equivalent qualification
  2. Tertiary student of a relevant and approved allied health course of study at a recognised tertiary institution

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
  1. crimes of violence
  2. sex related offences
  3. serious drug offences
  4. crimes involving dishonesty
  1. Identification check
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
