This position plays a crucial role in providing leadership, strategic and policy direction to the Group ensuring delivery of integrated solutions across the business units and the department. The role provides authoritative advice to the Government on a diverse range of strategic issues and critical projects. The Deputy Secretary plays a key role in providing leadership, direction, and co-ordination of effort across the Agency in strategy formulation and has significant role in leading the planning for built infrastructure in Tasmania and delivery of key infrastructure projects. As a key member of the Agency’s Executive team, the occupant provides leadership towards meeting whole of agency and government objectives and in particular to provide strategic leadership. The occupant is expected to work collaboratively across the department to lead an integrated approach to the delivery of services and programs and policies.
