About the role
As Ranger, you will assist the Ranger-in-Charge with the management of the Huonville Field Centre operations and resources.
This role blends hands‑on fieldwork, compliance responsibilities, office duties, and team leadership - no two days are the same. You will manage budgets and expenditure while shaping staff development through effective induction and training programs.
Based in Huonville, the Ranger will work across multiple reserves including Tasmania’s iconic Southwest National Park. You will work across high-profile sites including the Hartz Mountains National Park, South Coast Track, Eastern Arthurs Traverse, Melaleuca, Port Davey and Bathurst Harbour. Working among rocky shores, untamed beaches, and dramatic mountain peaks, the successful applicant will be comfortable working in remote and rugged landscapes.
