Job description:

Provide systems support and administration on a range of operational and corporate information systems across the department including Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) systems, detailed process and systems analysis, problem resolution, compliance activities, configuration, testing, reporting, training and system security. The position will also undertake and be involved in a number of business improvement projects supporting the priorities and initiatives for the Information Services branch.

Duties

  • Perform daily operations and maintenance of business information systems and interfaces to ensure high degree of quality control, compliance with standards and business rules, information assurance and workflow to support frontline and system users.
  • Monitor effective system activity, data integrity and provide analysis of complex problems and defect resolution assessment in consultation with internal and external Information Technology and business system units.
  • Provide expert advice and assist in the development and practical implementation of policies and procedures, including legislative changes, as it relates to integration into business systems.
  • Participate and lead projects to support, maintain and improve operational and corporate business systems, to achieve identified business outcomes and priorities.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of systems support documentation requirements and associated test plans.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders at the State and National levels on system related issues, including information exchange, integration, requirements, fault resolution, testing and customer services queries.
  • Analyse and evaluate business processes to identity and coordinate system development requirements and system upgrades, in consultation with business owners, including the recommendation of solutions, evaluation and testing.
  • Coordinate training and functional support to Departmental staff in the use of information management systems, including helpdesk support and user administration.

Desirable Requirements

Knowledge and expertise consistent with qualifications recognised at Diploma and Advanced Diploma or equivalent level.
