Job description:

The Pathology South Receptionist is a key role within the multidisciplinary team supporting workflow and providing excellent customer service to consumers visiting our busy clinic in the Wellington Centre.

The Team:

Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and the Pathology South team provides phlebotomy and specimen collection services in the outpatient setting at Wellington Clinic and satellite collection centres at Glenorchy, Kingston and Rosny. The service also supports inpatients areas at the RHH. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions.  All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

The Pathology South Receptionist is a key role within the multidisciplinary team supporting workflow and providing excellent customer service to consumers visiting our busy clinic in the Wellington Centre. 

You will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of reception and clerical functions along with excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in, or an ability to quickly acquire sound knowledge of, medical terminology.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate professionally, courteously and discreetly with staff, the public, clinical and laboratory personnel and external service providers.

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $66,049 to $70,993 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
