Job description:

The Clinical Haematology Department at the Royal Hobart Hospital is recruiting for 2025.

The Clinical Haematology Department at the Royal Hobart Hospital is recruiting for 2025.

The position would also suit trainees in palliative medicine & general medicine, potentially meeting accredited core training in Clinical Haematology, Medical Oncology, and Palliative Care.

Salary

$134,930 - $189,005 per annum

Period of Employment

Fixed term, full time day work, 76 hours (+10 hours protected training time) per fortnight, commencing 3 February 2025 for up to 4 years.  

Note: (Flexibility of 6-12 months)

Duties

The Registrar is responsible for the day to day management of public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital and provides on call cover for the Clinical Haematology unit as well as infrequent after-hours emergency cover at the hospital.

Essential Requirements

  • General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.  The following checks are to be conducted:

1.  Conviction checks in the following areas:

a)  Crimes of Violence

b)  Sex Related Offences

c)  Serious Drug Offences

d)  Crimes involving dishonesty

2.  Identification check

3.  Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
