Duties

Provide assistance to teacher(s) to support implementation of the Closing the Gap in Aboriginal Educational Outcomes 2010-2014 strategy and other relevant initiatives that contribute to improvement in the attendance, participation and educational outcomes of Aboriginal students.

*Employment conditions - 40 weeks per year.

Essential Requirements

The Head of the State Service has determined that this position is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identified position and that it can only be filled by Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with Employment Direction No. 10 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Tagged and Identified Positions. The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations 2014. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment. • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment) The cost associated with obtaining a Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People is the responsibility of the individual.

Determining Eligibility for Identified Roles

This role is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identified role and as such confirmation of eligibility will need to be provided to be considered for shortlisting by supplying a certified copy of the completed eligibility form contained in the document section below.

Applicatns who have already established eligibility with OAA prior to 1 July 2016 are to provide a certified copy of correspondence advising of eligibility.
