Duties
To assist in the provision of effective and efficient client care under supervision and assist with the day to day running of the medical and surgical Allied Health Service. This may include single discipline or multiple disciplines in the areas of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Social Work and other allied health services.
Assist therapists and other therapy assistants with preparation for and prescribed treatment of patients, including transportation of patients to and from treatment areas, evaluate patient progress, communicate treatment outcomes to the therapist and where necessary document the patient’s medical progress notes.
Exercise initiative and independent judgment in undertaking delegated tasks under supervision including assisting clinicians in the rehabilitation and/or treatment of clients, preparation of equipment for use in treatment and other related tasks.
